The smelter is a station facility that turns raw material into plate and other basic stock. It is built from iron ore, like the Generator. An Outpost, a Port, a mining platform or a surface base can hold one.
Production
- Iron plate, copper plate and glass.
- Steel plate, from iron plate and carbon, or from iron and carbon with oxygen.
- Water, melted from ice.
- Ceramic, fired from silicate with oxygen.
- Slugs, cast from iron.
- Iron plate recycled from scrap.
Most of its recipes leave slag behind.
