The core tap is a deep drill of the builders' design, with four times the drill rate of an ordinary deep drill, that reaches the body's core. Like a deep drill, it works only in a surface base and takes from the deep deposits its owner has found at the body first. Then it drills the body's deepest layer, its core, and works outward a layer at a time as each one empties. It never reaches the outer layer, and stops when nothing is left below it.
It is built from exotic alloy, drill heads and heavy frames. Its blueprint is locked until an ARCHON studies one of its relics in a lab. Its relics lie in the builders' ruins.
