The research station is a station for research. It is the only station that holds a Lab, alongside a dock and a Fabricator that makes data cores on site, and it holds nothing else. Its hold is larger than a Port's, and its dock takes ships up to a cruiser.
A Constructor builds it from processors, sensors, panels and concrete. Processors and sensors need copper, which is scarce in the home ring.
