A superconductor is wire that carries current with no loss: exotics drawn with wire and kept cold with coolant, made in a Foundry. It goes into the field coil, the gate core, the fusion reactor and the shield generator.
A superconductor draws on several tiers at once: exotics from the Deadzone, copper for the wire, and ice for the coolant, richest in the Fade.
