SHATTERED

NOTE

> STATUS reference note.

A shattered system is one where a planet broke apart long ago. Its fragments share one orbit, each turned inside out, so the dense metals of the old core lie outermost, with copper on the surface and iron beneath it. Loose debris drifts on the same orbit. Fragments keep their kind, and since they sit close together, accretion and collision can still act among them.
